JoyArt is an intercollegiate game art competition for connecting college students with industry professionals.

During my Junior year, I was part of a student-run team that managed multiple events for the Interactive Media in Game Design (IMGD) program at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, one of which being JoyArt.
JoyArt is important because it allowed art pieces from students to be judged by a panel of industry professionals, with the intent of strengthening portfolios and forging connections. In addition, winners got a plaque and a cash prize.
I was involved in the event’s planning process through-and-through, which included having to travel to MIT to arrange a location to place the event, searching for different vendors to buy trophies from, advertising the event across different Boston-area schools, and creating posters & graphics.
Poster #1

The first JoyArt 2025 poster, in which I drew Gompei, WPI’s mascot, in a chibi, mascot-like style.

PAX East
On this team, I was also involved with the planning of a PAX East booth that showed off student projects.

This poster was created to remind IMGD students to support their projects to our team, so that they could be showed off at PAX.
